Terminal 1 car park and reception area, Manchester Airport is located to the south of Manchester City Centre serving the whole of the North West area

Terminal 1 has recently undergone a multi million pound refurbishment which not only involved the interior of the building but also the car parks and customer drop off area. New lighting gantries were installed above the drop off area and this is where the pigeons decided to roost leaving their droppings below

After careful consideration to the building structure our polycarbonate bird spike system was agreed on with the architects. This system not only deterred the pigeons but was the most aesthetically pleasing solution for this area. Over 2500 meters of bird spike was installed on this project using our high tack adhesive

Other Considerations: The architects considered using the bird netting and bird wire system but decided the bird spikes were the best option

The pigeons were displaced from the car park and drop off area
